Tieton Farm and Creamery is Finalist in the 2019 Women Farm to Food Business Competition

TIETON, WA – Tieton Farm & Creamery was recently honored as a finalist in the first annual Women Farm to Food Business competition. This event was put on by the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA). NASDA awarded Tieton Farm & Creamery a $5,000 prize and runner-up recognition in the organization’s 2019 Women Farm to Food Business competition. To commemorate the recognition, NASDA flew Co-Owner and Operator of Tieton Farm and Creamery, Lori Babcock, to Washington D.C. to take part in a special ceremony.  

“Tieton Farm & Creamery makes cheese for people who want to eat clean and treat the earth with kindness,” said Lori Babcock. “For our small business to be recognized by a national organization is a major achievement for us and small farmers everywhere.”

 The NASDA 2019 Women Farm to Food Business competition was specific to Oregon and Washington. The outcomes of the competition included: 

  • 230 entries and four finalists 
  • Tieton Farm & Creamery took runner-up recognition; Barn Owl Bakery on Lopez Island placed first
  • Tieton Farm & Creamery will use its $5,000 in winnings to create a Cheese Tasting Room
