WASCA Board Member Rachael Lucas can now add the title Certified Specialist of Wine to her credentials. Lucas, who was already an American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professional and Certified Cheese Sensory Evaluator, passed the Society of Wine Educators’ CSW exam on Saturday, May 22.
Lucas, who is an Enthusiast Member of WASCA, runs the specialty cheese counter at the Ballinger Thriftway (a WASCA business member) in Shoreline. She is dedicated to advancing artisanal cheesemakers and providing consumer education—a pursuit that is now backed up by a certified ability to provide excellent cheese pairings.
