Milker Wanted

9 February 2023 – Chimacum Valley Dairy is interested in hiring some help on their dairy in Chimacum. Ideally, the candidate should have an interest in the dairy business. Someone who lives in Sequim or Port Angeles could be ideal with a commute just once or twice a week to Chimacum. The job duties entail:
- Milk pick-up and delivery to our farm from Sequim
- Milking goats
- Some general farm & livestock chores
- Could evolve into cheesemaking help, too
Commitment is 10 hours per week to start; starting pay rate is $16 dollars an hour, based on experience and skill level. Must have reliable vehicle.

2 May 2022 – HELP WANTED: CHEESEMAKERS
Samish Bay Cheese in Bow, WA is preparing for a major expansion and is looking to hire two people to help in our cheese and yogurt productions.
Assistant Production Manager should have at least one year cheesemaking experience and at least two years total in Food Processing. This is a full-time job with the option for a four or five days schedule, including weekends.
Cheesemaking Assistant does not require prior cheesemaking experience. Full time or part time option, 3-5 days/week, including weekends.

27 April 2022 – HELP WANTED: CHEESEMAKER
Cascadia Creamery is seeking a new team member to assist with
cheesemaking, cheese aging and order fulfillment. This dynamic position
is active in the entire production process. New hires will be trained
by experienced staff to successfully assume roles in cheesemaking and
affinage with other lead responsibilities in inventory management and
quality assurance.
Hours: 35-40 hours per week (flexible schedule)
Compensation: Hourly rate – Based on experience
Location: Trout Lake, WA
In addition to having a love for organic, raw, cave aged cheese,
candidates must also have:
* A high attention to detail
* Commitment to quality
* Dedication to cleanliness and sanitation
* Ability to follow detailed production and safety protocols
* Work well in a team environment with dedicated experienced staff
* Aptitude to self manage and problem-solve
* Comfort among cheese molds and microbes
* Willingness to spend long blocks of time cleaning and sanitizing equipment
* Able to lift up to 40-50 LBS
* Work on their feet throughout the day
* Experience with cheese/food production a plus.
* Comfort with production equipment and ability to trouble-shoot/fix
common mechanical issues a plus.
